Enlisting NOW for
Kaiden's Army...

The day Kaiden was born was amazing. Kaiden's parents prayed for a happy and healthy boy and that is just what God gave them. Then came the next day. A day filled with great distress and major heartache as Kaiden's parents learned through lots of testing and being seen by a pediatric cardiologist that Kaiden was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, named Tetralogy of Fallot and that in order for Kaiden to survive he would need to have an open heart surgery to correct the two of the four defects in his heart within the first year of his life.

Kaiden successfully had his open heart surgery, at three months old, on December 28th, 2012. He did have some complications and had to go back to surgery twice during his visit that did extend his time in the hospital. During his stay, his family received a care bag from Mended Little Hearts. In that bag was a beginning of understanding for his parents that they were not alone in Kaiden's fight for his life and it had many different resources and support for Kaiden's family. That care bag gave Kaiden's parents hope and the support that they needed from others parents and families that have been through a similar situation with their own heart heroes or angels.

That is why this group is so important to us. We want others to know that they are not alone in this fight and that is where your support helps other families in need. When we received the care bag we knew we wanted to help others that needed help too. We run this softball tournament to help raise funds for care bags for children and their family staying at  the Ronald McDonald House in Cleveland. Congenital Heart Disease affects one out every one hundred babies born. About twenty-five percent of babies with a CHD have a critical CHD. Infants with critical CHDs generally need surgery or other procedures in their first year of life. So please help us, help others!
